The GI Diet, lose weight by chasing the bad sugars

Here is a plan almost without restriction. This is to distinguish between good and bad carbs with glycemic index (GI). This tool measures the impact of food on blood sugar, ie sugar levels in the blood. To lose weight, you must select low GI foods.

Gluten treatment : A “fire extinguisher” for bowel

In the United States, researchers have discovered one of the mechanisms behind the inflammatory response. Specifically, they have isolated a molecule capable of preventing the intestinal reaction: alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (a-MSH).

This molecule appears to block inflammation at the cellular level. At least the results obtained in vitro, in the laboratory. These scientists hope to eventually produce a drug that can act locally by inhibiting the reaction before it causes any harm. But several years of research will be needed before considering this possibility.

Gluten intolerance: what treatment ?

Gluten intolerance affects about one in 200. Patients spend their lives to monitor their diet to avoid the risk of swallowing the cereal “cursed”: wheat, rye, barley … But new work gave hope to develop a treatment. The intolerant will they be able to eat without missing out?

The number of gluten intolerance is largely underestimated in France. For these patients, new treatment hopes arise.

Fresh or canned: Comparing nutritional assets

Several studies, some conducted by INRA compared fresh vegetables, canned and frozen. They claim to quasi-equivalent intakes of vitamins and other nutrients. Enough to justify the recommendation of the National Health Nutrition Program to “consume 5 fruits and vegetables per day in all its forms.”

The consumption of vegetables is essential because of their wealth in protective nutrients: vitamin C and B9, beta-carotene, polyphenols (antioxidants), fiber, potassium, calcium, magnesium and other minerals.

The Diet Soup

The Protein Diet

The high-protein diet benefit of a growing success. It is based on the consumption of meals or beverages containing proteins. But be careful, be aware that the pounds come back at a gallop to stop the diet.

Principle: This scheme aims to reduce calorie intake while preventing muscle wasting. In this treatment, food intake is almost exclusively protein (50 to 100 g of protein per day, or 200 and 400 kilo calories).

The system consists of powder or diet drinks which contain about 80% protein, very low in fat and carbohydrates. They are accompanied by water at will and sometimes vitamin supplements.
