Only foods of animal origin make cholesterol. The proportion of fat in these foods is highly variable within the same group of products as they are from the marine environment where the terrestrial environment. The main difference between meat and fish is mainly at the quality of these fats.

The meat is rich in cholesterol, saturated fat while the fat of fish contain generally more essential polyunsaturated fatty acids that have a protective effect against cardiovascular disease.
In this family food that are classified as all meats and other cured meats.

A composition equivalent

These foods are derived from the same animal sources. Their composition is equivalent to a few details:
• Protein quality of meats is generally lower than that of meat or fish;
• The saturated fat and cholesterol is often very high;
• The sodium content is also very important.

Despite this, these products are necessary for a balanced diet and must as such be consumed without ulterior motives but with a much lower frequency (once or twice a week).

To meet the nutritional balance, it is recommended to consume one serving of animal products at every meal. We take care of regularly varying sources (white and red meats, poultry, fatty fish and lean meat, eggs, seafood, meats …) and eat fish two to three times a week.
